Sustainable EU Immigration and Asylum System: Reform in Eight Pillars
The uncontrolled arrival of more than 1 million asylum seekers and illegal migrants to the EU in 2015 cannot repeat itself in the following years.
The basic assumption of the proposed plan is the belief that the solution to the migration crisis is not in closing and fencing the individual member states, but quite the contrary – in the common European solution. Only the European Union can be a sufficiently strong partner in handling the talks with the countries of Middle East and Africa, whose cooperation is crucial to handle the migration crisis.
The new system of the EU immigration and asylum policy is based on 8 principles. Here, you can download the full proposal, the summary and the press release.
