Dukovany II, being the largest economic project in the Czech Republic in the last 30 years, carries enormous economic and security risks. It is being prepared in a hurry, without a clearly defined strategy (business model, financing, way to ensure the security interests of the Czech Republic), without sufficient expert discourse, and especially without consensus across political representation, during the ongoing unprecedented coronavirus crisis, which will have huge, and not only economic, impact. In such a hurried and uncoordinated manner, the project that the Czech state will commit to for the upcoming decades cannot be successfully completed.
