Red Watch Program
The Red Watch Program is analyzing and challenging hostile influence of China. According to Czech and allied intelligence services, Chinese influence is gradually becoming a major security concern globally. We monitor, analyze, inform, and therefore help to defend against PRC’s influence instruments. We share experience among economic and security experts from Japan, Taiwan, Europe and other like-minded countries.
Our representation in Taiwan
In January 2022, EVC with the support of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Prague and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of ROC (Taiwan) has established the EVC Taiwan office.
Having permanent presence in Taiwan enables us to actively engage local Taiwanese civil society organizations in our research and advocacy projects.
In March 2023, the EVC and the Czech-Taiwanese Business Chamber jointly opened the Czech Hub in Taiwan, a physical office which shall assist in building the Czech community in Taiwan by offering know-how, space and other soft-landing services for new and existing initiatives in Taiwan.
Our project and partners
Red Watch program also seeks cooperation with other organizations in the Indo-pacific region. Red Watch team has been working on the projects in coordination with Embassy of Japan in the Czech Republic.
In cooperation with another think tanks from 11 European countries, the EVC Red Watch team took part in an international project called “China-Europe Academic Engagement Tracker”. The project tracked in detail the cooperation between local universities and Chinese entities.
