On September 25, 2024, the European Values Center for Security Policy will host the 10th edition of the European Values Summit, an international conference focused on security policy.
The summit will be held under the auspices of the President of the Czech Republic, H.E. Petr Pavel, Czech Minister of Foreign Affairs Jan Lipavský and Chief of Czech General Staff Lieutenant-General Karel Řehka. The opening speech will be delivered by the Speaker of Czech Chamber of Deputies Markéta Pekarová Adamová.
The summit is considered one of the most important events in the field of security policy and regularly attracts experts and key representatives from NATO, EU member states, allied institutions, and countries. The conference fosters discussions on creating a safer and healthier information environment, strengthening democratic resilience, and addressing the challenge posed by Russia and China in Europe. The program of the summit will primarily concentrate on deepening cooperation between European countries and Indo-Pacific democracies who are challenged by malign Chinese influence.
The most senior government delegation is coming from Taiwan, led by Deputy Secretary General of National Security Council Lin Fei-fan (林飛帆), who will be accompanied by Taiwanese Ambassador to the EU H.E. Roy Chun Lee (李淳). To encourage bipartisanship in Taiwan’s Europe relations, EVC has invited DPP Legislator Puma Shen (沈伯洋) and Dean of KMT Sun Yat-Sen Institute Tony Lin (林寬裕).
The Summit is sponsored by Datenna, the leading global provider of techno-economic intelligence on China, Czech German Fund for the Future (ČNFB), the Representation of the European Commission in Prague, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Embassy of Sweden, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Republic of China (Taiwan), NATO Public Diplomacy Division (PDD), Taipei Economic and Cultural Office, Prague (TECO) and Taiwan Foundation for Democracy (TFD).
