The European Values Center for Security Policy is excited to announce the signing of a memorandum of cooperation with the Asia Centre, a multinational civil society research institute based in Cambodia, Malaysia, and Thailand. EVC Taiwan Office Head Marcin Jerzewski represented our think tank at the signing ceremony, which took place on October 25th, 2024, on the sidelines of the Digital Rights Program for CSOs Regional End-of-Program Meeting in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.
Our cooperation will focus on advancing social development through initiatives such as knowledge-sharing conferences, seminars, and workshops and on delivering evidence-based research.
“With the MOU in place, both organizations can move forward confidently in implementing projects in Taiwan and the larger Indo-Pacific region,” said James Gomez, Regional Director of the Asia Centre.
EVC previously collaborated with the Asia Centre on several occasions, including the April 2024 Digital Rights Program for CSOs Country Meeting in Taiwan.
The Asia Centre is a research institute that aims to create social impact in the region. It was first established in Bangkok, Thailand, in 2015; in 2018, a second center was established in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. In 2021, the Asia Centre was granted the UN ECOSOC Special Consultative Status. The Centre undertakes evidence-based research, convenes events, and amplifies its work through media and social media engagement.
