On Friday, September 13, EVC hosted a full-day delegation consisting of representatives from the Kajima Institute of International Peace (KIIP), based in Japan, and the Institute for Security & Development Policy (ISDP), located in Sweden.
The delegation included Nobuyuki HIRAIZUMI (President of the KIIP), Nobukatsu KANEHARA (Professor at Doshisha University, former Ex-Assistant Chief Cabinet Secretary and Deputy Director General of the National Security Secretariat, Government of Japan), Masafumi ISHII (Japanese diplomat, presently teaching International Law at Gakushuin University), Tatsuo SHIKATA (Visiting Researcher, KIIP), Jagannath PANDA (Head of the Stockholm Center for South Asian and Indo-Pacific Affairs, ISDP) and Anna JARMUTH (coordinator, ISDP).
The program began with a closed-door roundtable on the topic of “Regional Security in East Asia within the Context of Geopolitical Confrontation.” During the event, the delegation introduced their book, written in cooperation with The Prospect Foundation, titled In Defense of the Liberal International Order. The day continued with an afternoon full of meetings with Czech policymakers, organized by EVC.
The intensive program concluded in the evening with a reception hosted by the Japanese Ambassador to the Czech Republic, H.E. Kansuke Nagaoka.
