On 18 April 2024, European Values Center for Security Policy hosted a Taiwanese delegation led by General Wang Chun-Li (王俊力), Director-General of Ministry of Justice Investigation Bureau (MJIB, 法務部調查局).
The consultation was attended by leading Czech legislators focusing on Czech-Taiwan relations in terms of security policy, law-enforcement and intelligence cooperation, and countering Chinese interference and disinformation:
- Pavel Žáček, Chairman of the Security Policy Committee of the Czech Chamber of Deputies
- Martin Exner, Vice-Chairman of the Security Policy Committee of the Czech Chamber of Deputies
- Markéta Gregorová, Member of European Parliament, Member of Subcommittee on Security and Defence of the European Parliament
MJIB is the primary law-enforcement and counter-intelligence police agency of Taiwan. In September 2023, the Director of Czech National Organized Crime Agency visited Taiwan and publicly signed “Declaration of Intent to upgrade judicial cooperation”.
