Policy Centers Commit to Collaborate on Security and Defense Research<\/p>\n
On June 30, the Institute for National Defense and Security Research (INDSR) signed a memorandum of understanding with the Prague-based European Values Center for Security Policy (EVC). Both parties in the full spirit of shared values committed to strengthening their cooperation and interaction in the study and analysis of security and defense issues.<\/p>\n
Under the agreement, INDSR and EVC will initiate a series of projects including the exchange of experts, joint research initiatives, and knowledge-sharing seminars.<\/p>\n
Previously, INDSR has signed memoranda of understanding with\u00a0the\u00a0Fondation pour la recherche strat\u00e9gique (FR), King’s College London (UK )and University of \u017dILINA (SK).<\/p>\n
Attending the virtual signing ceremony were INDSR CEO Chen-wei Lin, Deputy CEO Alex Po, acting Deputy CEO Si-fu Ou, EVC Director Jakub Janda and EVC Taipei Office Director Richard Kraemer.<\/p>\n
INDSR CEO Chen-wei Lin acknowledged EVC as a prominent think tank with an long-standing focus on Eastern Europe and Russia; however, it is now beginning to make its presence felt in the Indo-Pacific region \u2013 the primary regional focus of INDSR. He expressed his encouragement that both INDSR and EVC will deepen their engagement over security and defense studies.<\/p>\n
INDSR Deputy CEO Alex Po said it was a significant moment to witness the partnership and that he looked forward to seeing future collaboration between the organizations.<\/p>\n
EVC Director Jakub Janda pointed out that both Taiwan and the Czech Republic share democratic values. He said that EVC will bring about more European perspectives on security and defense affairs through cooperation with INDSR, creating a more practical relationship.<\/p>\n
Richard Kraemer, who will head EVC\u2019s Taipei Office when it is set up, said that Taiwan has stood firm while facing external and malign challenges in the past decade. He expects that both EVC and INDSR will mutually benefit from their respective experiences in confronting enemies of freedom.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
