Women in Security Policy
We connect women in security policy from diverse fields such as politics, diplomacy, media, civil sector and government. Our goal is to support each other and discuss the topics we are working on at the European Values Security Centre, which is mainly the countering of hostile influence operations from the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China. We organize regular meetings not only to discuss the role of women and the challenges they face in a masculine environment, but also to discuss current security threats, with a focus on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, as well as current issues within the region, such as the undermining of democracy in Hungary. We organize various meetings, closed roundtables or receptions. Depending on the format, the meetings are attended by twenty to fifty women, including Ukrainian experts from the Information Defense Hub and women from the political sphere, such as:
Markéta Pekarová Adamová, Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic; Olga Richterová, Deputy Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic; Eva Decroix, Member of the Parliament of the Czech Republic; Ayesha Patricia Rekhi, Ambassador of Canada to the Czech Republic; Fredrik Jörgensen, Ambassador of Sweden to the Czech Republic; Kimberly Phillips, Political Counsellor, Embassy of Canada to the Czech Republic
